Postage prices - April 2013 update

Being based in the United Kingdom, we are fortunate to benefit from being in one of the lowest courier cost countries in the world.  However, from time to time shipping rates need to be revised. Our courier of choice, Royal Mail, has recently changed its pricing structure for both domestic, EU and international shipping.

We are happy to announce that whilst some customers will see a very small increase in shipping prices, many will see a reduction of up to 10% or more, in particular for multiple-bottle orders.

We continually review our costs to provide a cost-effective service to our customers. We pass on shipping costs to our customers and do not seek to make any margin out of getting our fragrance products into the hands of our customers.

We have recently launched our product range on and are progressively listing all of our products there. We are trying to keep both prices and shipping services the same as on our site, although with currency conversions there can be a few minor discrepancies.

We made this step to offer our customers more choice in how they make their purchases. We would also very much appreciate genuine product reviews on Amazon.

Announcement on shipping cost policies

We always try to keep our post and packaging costs as low as possible. We have a policy of ensuring that the shipping costs we charge reflect the costs to us, rather than pricing shipping to make money. From today, our courier – Royal Mail – is increasing the cost of shipping. Royal Mail has historically always offered the best service for our customers receiving their fragrance products, in terms of quality, reliability and cost.

For the time being we will NOT be passing the increased cost onto our customers and will be seeking to absorb the cost elsewhere in the business. We will also be investigating alternative options, including other courier service providers. This may result in a price increase in the near future. This may also result in a change to our shipping policies, but we will try to keep our ‘flat-rate, anywhere in the world’ shipping policy.

In the mean time, as we mentioned, we are keeping our flat-rate shipping pices the same (they are calculated at checkout, depending on how many bottles you order), so if you are thinking about placing an order, you might save money doing it now rather than later!

Sensory Decisions is happy to help Dunkin Donuts!

Jubilant FoodWorks Ltd and  Dunkin’ Donuts are due to open their first Dunkin Donuts store in India later this month. We are pleased to announce that we are in discussions with them about potentially providing fragrance products for their store.

The store in Bangalore will be targetted at increasingly affluent coffee and pastry lovers who love a good cup of coffee (and the smell of coffee) and a donut. The competition however will be hottening up in the next few months, as Starbucks is hot on their heels!

We aspire to be a truly ethical and green fragrance company

We are proud to have signed up to the 10:10 initiative, the main principle behind which is to cut carbon, 10% at a time.

It is a personal objective of the company directors to make the operations of Sensory Decisions carbon neutral before the end of 2012. There is a robust plan in place to identify the company’s carbon footprint and to reduce and offset this.

Carbon reporting and offsetting will be carried out in line with BSI PAS 2060 and ISO14064.

We are also proud to be a part of the 10:10 initiative to promote continuous carbon reduction in society

This movement is in line with our long-standing policy to reduce the impacts of our products on the environment. Our environmental policy gives more detail on how we are working on making our green fragrances even more environmentally friendly, including our commitment to become a carbon neutral fragrance company.
