The Smell of Bread
Throughout the world, the smell of freshly baked bread is consistently cited as a favourite smell in opinion polls and surveys. Bread - essentially just a cooked cereal dough - has been a staple food in many cultures for thousands of years and has taken on traditional, symbolic and religious roles. Whilst the particular ingredients and cooking method can vary, we all know what we mean by...
‘that fresh baked bread smell’.
The aroma of fresh bread contains over 500 volatile compounds, with a subset of these producing the most prominent effects. Sensory Decisions' first ever product was borne out of the ambitious task of recreating the smell of fresh bread in a room spray. We now have exactly the same scent in a variety of fragrance products and devices.
We focus (for the most part) on singular scents. Our fresh bread scented products are great paired with others from our food scents range, including the smells of coffee, chocolate, popcorn and bacon.
